has graduated in Commerce from Delhi University, and has done her post graduation in Human Resource Management. She has taken the Visharad Poorna degree in Odissi dance conducted by the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai.

She gave her first solo recital in the Sopan Festival organized by the Sahitya Kala Parishad – a festival for upcoming artistes – in the year 2000 in Delhi. This was followed by performances in Yuva Mahotsav 2003, India International Centre 2004, Southeast Asian cultural and educational forum 2004, Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Nritya Pratibha 2005, International cooperation agriculture forum2005, The Attic 2006, Belgium (2006), Mexico (2007), Anubhuti Cultural Centre- Belgium 2007 ,Maison d l'Inde- Paris 2007 and others. She has received much acclaim from both critics and dance lovers.

She has performed in her Guru’s compositions and choreographies, and has traveled with her troupe extensively. Some of her notable performances are for National Television (Doordarshan Delhi and Ahemdabad), Uday Shankar Ballet Festival (Jaipur and Mumbai), Qutub Festival (Delhi). Konark Festival (Orissa). Modhera Festival (Gujarat), 50th Year Independence Day Celebrations (Delhi and Dhaka), Jaidev festival Orissa, 3rd International Orissi Festival Delhi, Dance festival (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Leon Dance Festival (France), ICCR (Vietnam, Laos, Nepal, China and USA), Indian food and cultural Festival (Venezuela), Festival of Indian Dance (Theatre de la ville (Paris), Fez Music Festival (Morocco), Days Of Delhi (St. Petersburgh, Russia), Trafalgar Square (London) as well as festivals in France, Belgium and Germany.

She has also participated in Spic Macay programmes of Odissi dance in Delhi school’s and colleges with her Guru.

She has served as a faculty member at the Gandharva Mahavidyalay Delhi to train junior students. She had been invited by the Shaida school of classical and contemporary dance in south of Belgium under the cultural exchange programme “East meets West”. Taken by the sculpturesque quality and grace of the style, Moumita continues to pursue Odissi dance in Delhi, where she lives and teaches.
